This morning, I had just finished reading “Nurturing Healing Love” by Scarlett Lewis. Her son was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. I looked at the headline news to read that a teenager had gone on a stabbing spree at his high school in Pittsburgh. We are living in a culture of anger, hate and violence that we have contributed to. We have to accept that we are responsible for the problems at hand and that we are in this boat together. When I see children killing children, soldiers killing soldiers, people killing people over nothing more than angry thoughts, I am deeply saddens and feel a sense of failure. The government cannot save us from our angry thoughts. How many people must die before we value each other and life itself?
Nobody should live with angry thoughts and pain bottled up inside. Plant seeds of compassion, friendship, love and peace of mind because we are surrounded by weeds of anger, hate and hostility. Too many children have died.
