We are all facing hard times. People have lost jobs, retirements, houses, communities, loved ones, dreams, hope. As I write this post, there are several wildfires burning across Colorado and other states, a police officer was shot and killed last night, unemployment is on the rise, record hear and the list of critical events impacting us could go on.
What is sad to always see, is how crisis events in our lives can turn people against each other breeding hate and violence. Everyone has had their patience tested and resources depleted. There is a constant buzz of hate spreading across our country. In times of personal, community, economic, global crisis, we need to work together and lean forward working towards regaining hope, trust, peace of mind, and rebuilding our lives
I was fortunate to have a father who grew up during The Great Depression. He also served in WW2. My father always listened to music, especially Big Band music. It was music that united people. It was a common language for all. Times were very difficult then. Yet, people could focus on the sound, the beat, the melody, and the words. Music was the ointment for change and hard times. Let music bring peace of mind during times of crisis lift us up from our despair and empower and unite us to move forward.
