Wide open spaces…

There are times when I feel ill.  When I feel like the walls are closing in.  When the air feels heavy and stifling.  When things don’t go the way I want them to.  I take a step back, catch my breath and take it all in calmly.

Mother Nature is quite the artist, the musician, the creator of creatures.  The sights and sounds of nature in wide open spaces are just amazing.  The smell of alfalfa and lavender fields, the expansive horizon of a field that goes on forever,  the sounds of bees, crickets and humming birds.  Time seems to stand still and be endless, all at once.  Even when I cannot go immediately to a physical location, I can travel there in my mind.  You can too.
